Formula used
Cash down = price × down-payment percentage/100. Balance = max(0, price − cash down − trade-in).
Worked example
A 30,000 vehicle with 20% cash down needs 6,000 cash. With a 2,000 trade-in, the remaining balance is 22,000 before taxes and fees.
What the result means
This treats the trade-in as additional to the cash deposit. Subtract any outstanding trade-in debt before entering its net value.
