Formula used

Litres needed = distance in km × consumption in L/100km ÷ 100.

Worked example

600 km at 7.5 L/100km needs 45 litres. At 8.5 L/100km it needs 51 litres.

What the result means

The answer excludes a fuel reserve. Budget extra range for diversions and access to a suitable fuel station.
