Formula used
Fuel cost per distance unit = total fuel cost ÷ distance travelled.
Worked example
70.00 spent over 500 miles is 0.14 per mile. For 500 kilometres the same arithmetic gives 0.14 per kilometre.
What the result means
Match the distance unit to the page title. This is a fuel-only rate unless you deliberately include additional costs in the total.
